Okay so a colleague dropped her car (2009 Ford Focus Mk2) off this morning. So after having a look around.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Not bad in the whole scheme of things just regular grime. So with it being only 7:30am I thought it too early to wake the neighbours with the sound of the pressure washer and got on with cleaning the engine bay which after an hour spent came up well. Then my potato died, so no picture of the finished engine bay.

So while it was charging and I was warming myself up I got everything else ready. Tackled the wheels with wheel cleaner, fallout remover, degreaser, stiff nylon brush, detailing brush and my Wheel Woolies.

Kinja'd!!!

Then onto the washing, snow foamed the car and immediately after, another thing died on me, my pressure washer packed up. :(

But I worked round it and got the car rinsed, shampoo washed, de-tarred, re-washed and dried, sealed with C2v3, then onto the glass, plastics, interior, etc...

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Great day in all bar the ruddy pressure washer giving up the ghost so I'm now shopping for a new washer like I didn't have enough bills this month.

She's the second Mk2 I've done and suits both the light blue metallic and the silver very well indeed.

Ye', once the cover is taken off it looks a bit like a rabbit warren.

They do look nice when clean. This is another Mk2.

This is kind of funny, I went and taught my friend how to wash her car today. I started clay barring it and instantly knew it had never been clayed....with over 220,000 miles under it's belt. SO MUCH OXIDATION!!!! Other than that, I cleaned the most filthy rims....ever, did the body, and just some Instawax+ because time, or lack thereof.

Edit: Oh, and my package actually came today, so I will be able to do a full detail tomorrow. will definitely post pics of before and after tomorrow evening/night

It's great when you get to teach someone how to do it and then hopefully get a detailing buddy.

Glad the parcel arrived in time. Happy days.

Look forward to checking them out.

I definitely did not get a detailing buddy. She was getting bored after the wheels....

It was alright though, she gave me her old super oxidized headlight so I could practice on it and learn the procedure so that was alright. And she said she would get me some ice cream or coffee one day so that's a plus.

Bored after the wheels, that's the first thing after the engine. Some people have no attention.

Oxidised headlights along with dull plastic trim can really let the body down.

Hopefully the ice cream or coffee leads to lunch, maybe. ;)

Didn't even do the engine or any paint correction. It was only like 3.5 hours of work!

Yeah, her dad got her completely new headlights(just needed bulbs and new cover for one side cause it was broken) so I asked her for the old one that wasn't broken so I can experiment with it.

And I can tell you it won't. She shot me down about a year and a half ago. We are just really good friends now, which is actually alright because just spending more time with her, I don't think I could handle her as more than a friend sometimes haha!

Same here, just a paint cleanse and seal.

I hear you on the friend thing. Some of my colleagues are more high maintenance than a vintage automobile.

The 'friend zone', voted the least wanted zone to be in.

Someones's it sucks to be in it and sometimes you look at relationships and say to youself, 'bloody hell, I'm glad that's not me'.
